We Want Dallas!
I can’t hold it in any longer. DALLAS! DALLAS! DALLAS! There is no other team known to man under the sun that a real Die Hard Redskins Fan loves to hate more than the Dallas Cowboys.
I can analyze the Arizona Cardinals game from yesterday. I can talk about how well we prepared on defense. I can talk about the continued development and evolution of Jason Campbell. Or, I could dispute the sentiment of the Cardinals fans that believe the Skins were outplayed, and that the interception late in the game was pass interference. But, I don’t want to. Not any more.
I want to talk about Dallas. After all, in the NFC East, right now it’s all about Dallas. And, apparently, according to the artcile in the Washington Post this morning, it seems that others feel the same thing. Even Matt Terl of the Official Redskins Blog writes that come Monday morning, the players and coaches want to talk about the week ahead. But, the media, press, and bloggers try to keep them looking backwards, at least for a few days.
Well, for the record, this Die Hard Redskins Fan will have none of that.
We want Dallas!
We want Dallas!
This is not to dismiss the Arizona Cardinals. Not at all. They are a good team. In fact, I think they will make the playoffs. They are worthy of our respect. But, that said, we are about to enter into the shadow of the valley of the Dallas Cowboys.
Why is the entire league is crowning these guys as the team to beat? Last week, on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, they were lucky to get out of the game with a win. Last night, on Sunday Night Football, they fought hard to get past the Green Bay Packers. From where I sit, I don’t see the ‘domination factor’ that many seem to think that they have.
Sure, they have some really good players like, Terrell Owens, and…
Who else do they have?
Tony Romo?
He’s decent. He’s great for the media due to his ability to improvise and create an exciting highlight film. Plus, he’s got a great story. He really wasn’t supposed to be in the league that long, much less a starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys. And because of that, I think the media hypes his ability too much. I think they want another Tom Brady story.
But, Tony Romo is no Tom Brady.
Who else do they have that makes the pundits tremble at the knees and crown the Cowboys the team to beat?
Adam (formerly Pacman) Jones.
No doubt, every analyst that looks forward will ‘give’ the game to the Cowboys before it is played.
To that I say, Blah, blah, blah…that’s why we play the games.
Bring it on! It’s Cowboys week.
